Seabrook Travel's NCL Getaway Experience

We're back! Last week Seabrook Travel took 57 people on the Norwegian Getaway for a 7 day cruise with a pre-night hotel in Miami. Despite having rain and a bit chilly weather, we had a great time! Here's our highlights.

Miami was gorgeous and so fun! South Beach was a fun party scene with a great shopping district. We loved the Art Deco Street fair we happened to be there for! Although South Beach might not be for everyone, we enjoyed it.

Sunday it was time to board the Getaway! We instantly went to O'Sheehan's Resturant on board where they have the most delicious chicken wings. It was a little to cold for us to do the watersides the first day so we went to Sugarcane's mojito bar to watch the sail away! Our favorite was spicy mojito.

That night we ate at the Specialty restaurant, Cagney's Steak House. My husband raved that it was the best steak of his life. I personally loved the raspberry creme brulee.

On board for the two sea days of the cruise, we loved Spice H20, the adults only section with two hot tubs and a waterfall pool area. Karen and Kelly enjoyed extra spicy Bloody Marys made by our favorite bartender Dragan all week while soaking in these quieter hot tubs. This area offered a lot of seating as well. Other members of our group had a great time on the rope course and free fall water slides! We also made sure to have plenty of pictures taken by the professional photographers around the ship.

We ate at four of the specialty restaurants, Cagney's, Le Bistro, La Cucina, and Teppanyaki. Our favorite by far was Cagney's. You just can't go wrong with a delicious steak! We also enjoyed Shanghai Noodle Bar located in the casino. The dumplings were to die for! The bar at La Cucina was one of our favorites, with an amazing atmosphere.

Roatan, Honduras was our first stop. the highlight of this stop, and arguable our whole trip was Daniel Johnson’s Monkey & Sloth Hangout. This tucked away spot was where we got to enter a monkey hang out and play with Capuchin Monkeys and hold a sloth named Olivia! We thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the rampant poverty in Honduras. We took a bus tour of the island and our hearts were deeply touched by the scene. Going back, I would suggest taking a transfer right to the monkey experience and save yourself the heart break. The next stop on our adventure was Harvest Caye, Belize. This is Norwegian's private island, with a beautiful pool and beach area. The sand was a little rough so we stayed by the pool, complete with a swim up bar. Please be aware that food and drink is a separate charge on this island and is not included in the Ultimate Beverage Package. Here you can go parasailing, zip-lining, and experience wildlife. I enjoyed the Pink Cadillac Margarita at Landshark!

Costa Maya was our third stop on the cruise and unfortunately for us it poured rain and was cold! However even with these conditions we could tell this stop was special and had a lot of potential! We only went ashore for lunch but did get to catch a glimpse of the dolphins at work!

Finally we arrived in Cozumel, where we had a crazy adventure on ATVs in the jungle where we jumped in a cenote and drove through a low cave! This is tied with the monkeys as the best part of our trip! We recommend it for sure!
